Women walking, women talking

Underground lifeline

Women walking, women talking
Women fighting, women biting
Draining, dragging, down and down
Scowling, angry, wrinkles, frown
Unknown reasons, unaware,
The dance goes on, but you aren’t there.
The chance to join once more is lost
At the end of life, you count the cost.

We walk, we fight,
We talk, we bite.
We criticise, condemn, resent
The women whom we represent.
Competition, get your boss
All this scarcity, all this loss.
Where is our love these sunlit days
In our hearts, so many ways
To share the wealth
And bring all women to good health
Women be friends, make amends
Women be friends, earth’s legacy on us depends
